Rocky Colavito
Colavito possessed one of the most explosive right-handed swings of the late 1950s and early 1960s, launching 374 home runs despite playing in an era when power numbers were significantly depressed. His peak came during a remarkable four-year stretch from 1958-1961 when he averaged 40 home runs per season, including back-to-back 42-homer campaigns.
The six-time All-Star's most famous moment came on June 10, 1959, when he became just the eighth player in major league history to hit four home runs in a single game. That performance epitomized his all-or-nothing approach — Colavito could change a game with one swing, but his .266 career average reflected the strikeouts that came with his aggressive style.
His 1159 career RBIs tell the story of a middle-of-the-order force who consistently drove in 80-plus runs during his prime years. While he never won a home run title outright, Colavito finished in the top five in homers six different times, establishing himself as one of the American League's most feared sluggers before the offensive explosion of the late 1960s.
