The Almanac's Take

Two of two games have confirmed lineups, so the slate is thin but fully posted. The most eyebrow-raising number on the board is Griffin Conine sitting at a 1.154 OPS hitting seventh for Miami — that kind of production buried in the bottom third of a Marlins order is the sort of inefficiency worth circling. In the Reds lineup, Nathaniel Lowe's .927 OPS at sixth is similarly misplaced, though Elly De La Cruz (.852, 12 HR) hitting third is the cleaner tournament anchor there. Detroit hasn't posted yet, so the Twins side of that game is a half-read — Buxton leading off with 17 HR and a .844 OPS is interesting, but hold until Detroit's order drops.
